Crown Chakra

The Sanskrit name is Sahasrara meaning “a thousandfold.”Its colors are purple, clear, and white. The symbol is a circle with a thousand petals. It’s located at the top of the head or slightly above the head, like a crown’s presence. Physically it is associated with the brain and nervous system. Knowledge, consciousness, awareness, bliss, and wisdom come from this chakra. It’s referred to as the gateway to higher consciousness and higher self.

Here are some of the characteristics you will notice at various stages

When the Crown Chakra is balanced:

  • Connected spiritually

  • Conscious

  • Aware

  • Open-minded

  • Wise

When the Crown Chakra is imbalanced:

  • Close-minded

  • Disconnected from spirituality

  • Headaches or Migraines

  • Lack of direction

  • Issues with the nervous system

  • Depression

When the Crown Chakra is overactive:

  • Insomnia

  • God complex

  • Overly intellectual

  • Alzheimer’s

  • Stroke

Tip:

The best way to heal the crown chakra is through meditation regularly, praying, and fasting. Eating specific foods will not be as influential since the crown chakra thrives on spirituality. Yoga is another way to balance or heal this chakra.

  • Fast

  • Drink alkaline or quartz infused water

  • Practice “crown chakra” yoga poses (i.e., Corpse Pose and Sukhasana)

Crystals for the crown chakra

  • Amethyst

  • Selenite

Essential Oils:

  • Lavender

  • Rose
